The officers and members of the Jacksonville Retired Firefighter Association are saddened to report that

Retired JFRD Rescue Captain Brian L. Sweeney (69) passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Captain Sweeny was hired by JFRD on October 31, 1977 and retired as Captain of Rescue 71 on February 24, 2006.

As per Brian's wishes, he will be cremated and no funeral service will be held.

Please keep Brian's Wife Lisa, son Chris, brother Lynn and his wife Pam as well as family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

A celebration of life is now scheduled.
