  The officers and members of the Jacksonville Retired Firefighter Association are saddened to report that

Retired JFRD Rescue Lieutenant Robert W. Rhoden passed away May 02, 2025.

Copied from the JFFDBF: Lieutenant Robert "Bob" W. Rhoden. Lieutenant Rhoden passed away peacefully in the late evening hours of Friday, May 2, 2025, after a five year battle against cancer. Lieutenant Rhoden worked for the City of Jacksonville Recreation Department beginning August 15, 1968, and transferred to the Jacksonville Fire Department in 1970 with his first assignment at Fire Station 18. Within his first year of fire department employment he transferred to the Rescue Division and attended the second paramedic class held by the department. He retired after 34 years of JFRD service in January 2004. At the time of his retirement he was assigned to the Training Academy where he shared his wealth of experience and knowledge with those willing to learn. He was also employed as an instructor at Florida State College of Jacksonville, North Campus, in the EMS Department for many years and provided a solid educational experience for those students.We asked that you remember our brother and his family and keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this separation.
