The officers and members of the Jacksonville Retired Firefighter Association are saddened to report that

Retired JFRD Engineer ThomasW. Read III. passed away Saturday December 08, 2018.

Tom was a crew member of Engine 6 when Station 6 was closed and the engine and crew were used to open Station 51. He was also known for his expertise in motorcycle repair work. Tom had been battling cancer and has now escaped the grasp of the disease.

A Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, December 15, 2018, beginning at 10 a.m., at the West Gate Baptist Church, 570 Ellis Rd S, Jacksonville, FL 32254. Pastor Wayne Young officiating. Family request in lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society or Community Hospice. Rest In Peace Tom.
