Retired Jacksonville Fire Department Captain Benjamin Leo Perry, Sr. of Middleburg, Florida passed to another life August 28, 2013. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 64 years, Cordia H. Perry and by his daughter Virginia Fowler. He is survived by his children Larry and Loyce Perry (Oxford, Ga.) Leo and Terry Perry (Middleburg, Fl) George (Jack) Perry (Middleburg, Fl) Dan and Bonnie Perry (Tampa, Fl) Susan and Terry Smiley (Middleburg, Fl): 7 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren: sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Ted Alvarez, and a host of friends. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School (Jacksonville, Fl) in the class of 1939. Mr. Perry retired as a Captain from the City of Jacksonville Fire Dept. and also retired from the State of Florida Fire Marshalls Office. He also is a retired Lt. Colonel in the Florida National Guard and he served in the Army Air Corp. in San Antonio, Texas. Visitation will be at Evergreen Mausoleum Chapel (Main Street, Jacksonville) at 1:30 PM with the service to follow at 2:00 PM on Friday the 30th. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
