Retired Lieutenant Bruce W. Hedrick lost his life in an automobile accident on New Berlin Rd. December 12, 2012.

HEDRICK Bruce Wayne Hedrick, 59, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Mr. Hedrick was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville. Bruce had retired as a lieutenant after 30 years with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department. While with the department he had received numerous awards, including Fireman of the Year and several Silver and Bronze Life Saving Medals. Bruce was also a longtime member of Moose Lodge # 2134. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Leon and Hazel Hedrick and his brother, Tommy Hedrick. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Debbie; one daughter, Krystle Fooks (Joe); one son, Chris Hedrick (Amy Crowder); one sister, Susan Brown (Walter); four grandchildren, Amarissa Hedrick, Savannah and Austin Fooks and Mason Murray; many nieces and nephews, other loving family and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm Tuesday, December 18, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Pastor Bill Tyler officiating.
