Retired JFRD Engineer Arnold Haddock passed away Saturday June 06, 2015
Arnold O. Haddock, 84, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015. He was a lifelong native of Jacksonville and a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. He served as a Fireman with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department for 20 years and was honored as Fireman of the Year in 1971. The brotherhood he shared at Fire Station # 10 gave him memories he treasured and enjoyed talking about until his death. He also enjoyed time with them in the “scrub” and his fishing trips with “Mudfish White.” Arnold also served four years in the United States Army and was a skilled craftsman and carpenter. He was of Baptist faith and a Charter Member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Shelia. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Annette. He also leaves a loving family from a former marriage; son, Guy R. Haddock, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Northeast Florida Community Hospice and Nurse Mary Matthews who gave such special care to Arnold. Also, heartfelt thanks to Wayne Doolittle and John Wood of the Jacksonville Retired Firemen Association who were tireless in helping Annette in this time of grief.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 in the Broadus-
Retired Fire Department Chaplain James “Pop” Williams will be officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with military honors conferred.
