The officers and members of the Jacksonville Retired Firefighter Association are saddened to report that

JFRD active-duty Engineer Ian M. Church, (41) passed away the morning of Tuesday August 20, 2024.

Engineer Church had served the JFRD since February 20, 2021, and prior to that worked for Clay County Fire Rescue.

Before his fire service career Engineer Church faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Engineer Church recently promoted on June 22, 2024, and prior to that was assigned to Ladder 160.

Engineer Church's former officer, Lieutenant Armando Gonzalez, will serve as the JFRD Family Liaison and all visits and phone calls should be coordinated through Lieutenant Gonzalez (305-479-8863).
