Firefighter Jason Bishop, 39, worked for the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department for 10 years. Last assignment was Ladder 4 B Shift
He was helping his father with tree work, in the 13000 block of Mallora Drive
on Saturday June 02, 2012.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said he was harnessed to the trunk of a dead tree
and using a chainsaw to cut a branch.
When the branch was cut, it swung around and hit the trunk of the tree. The tree
snapped where the branch hit it.
Jason fell 40 feet to the ground. His father called 911 and started CPR until JFRD units arrived.
