BIRD Clifford E. Bird, III, 80, a native and life-long resident of Jacksonville passed
away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Mr. Bird was a retired firefighter for the City of
Jacksonville with over 29 years of service. He was a member of the William B. Barnett
Masonic Lodge, #187 F and AM; Scottish Rite Bodies and the Morocco Temple of the
Shrine. He was also a member of the Firefighter s Shrine Club. Clifford was preceded
in death by a daughter, Robbin; his son, Mark and a brother, Merritt Bird. He is
survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances; his children, Dixie (John), Michael, and
LeAnne (Erik); his Aunt Bernice Kamerling; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Bird was also a member of St. Andrew s Lutheran Church By-the-Sea, 1801 Beach
Blvd., Jacksonville Beach where Memorial Services were held 3:00 p.m. Sunday,
April 19th with Pastor Michael Blaker officiating. Burial wtook place at a later
date at the Church Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Haven
Hospice or St. Andrew s Lutheran Church By-the-Sea in his memory.
It is with deep sorrow that the Jacksonville Association of Retired Firefighters
announces the death of JFRD Retired Engineer C. E. Bird who retired from station
42 passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015
