STAN WAS BORN AUGUST,20,1937 AT OLD ST. LUKES HOSPITAL, JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, TO MYRON AND IRENE CROSBY. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. TWO OF HIS BROTHERS ARE DECEASED. STAN GRADUATED FROM DUPONT HIGH SCHOOL AND GOT HIS FIRE SCIENCE DEGREE FROM JACKSONVILLE UNIVERSITY STAN MARRIED BARBARA IN 1961 (52 YRS) THEY HAVE TWO CHILDREN, SCOTT AND PAIGE. HE SERVED TWO YEARS IN THE UNITED STATES ARMY. HE WAS HIRED ON THE JACKSONVILLE FIRE DEPT ON SEPTEMBER, 13, 1963. HE WAS FIRST ASSIGNED TO ENGINE 11 C SHIFT WITH CAPTAIN DOBSON. HE WAS PROMOTED TO CHIEF'S AIDE WITH CHIEF EARL MATTHEWS AND THEN WENT TO SQUAD 19 AS ENGINEER, HE LATER WAS PROMOTED TO LT. E-4. STAN RETIRED FROM STA.28 (ENG. 28) IN 1995. HIS MOST MEMORABLE EVENT WAS THE ROOSEVELT HOTEL FIRE ON DEC 1963 SPECIAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE BUILDING THE FIREFIGHTERS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY MEMORIAL MONUMENT AT STATION NO.1. ALONG WITH, LT. HARRY KIRKPATRICK AND S.O. ATKINS. STAN WAS THE (MORTAR MAN). HE IS ALSO VERY ACTIVE IN THE ANNUAL FISHING TOURNAMENT. HIS HOBBIES
ARE FISHING, HUNTING, GARDENING, AND CHASING AFTER THE KIDS .
