I hope everyone
had a good holiday week and your travels
were safe. Not too much to go over this
week as not a whole lot has been
happening.
·
Company Officer
meetings---are being scheduled now.
Instead of three days in a row, we will
be spreading out the meetings over three
weeks.
o
They will be January 2nd,
January 9th, and January 16th.
The Chiefs will schedule accordingly.
As always, a variety of topics will be
discussed.
·
New Firefighter Study---was
released this month. Basically stating
absorption (through your skin) is an
issue. Please take the time to read as
it’s pretty interesting.
·
New 62---is rapidly
becoming operational. We are looking
to staff sometime around the 20th.
·
ALS Stickers---have
been ordered…here is a preview. Engine
1 and Engine 4 will become ALS January 1st.
We are looking to expand other companies
capabilities as well.
I promised this
was going to be brief, and I think four
bullet points meets that definition. I
hope everyone has a safe and happy New
Year and I’m looking forward to what we
as an organization can do in the new
year.
Please keep your
thoughts and your prayers with our folks
this week as some are going through some
tough times.
I know many
changes are forthcoming and if you have
any questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to contact me with them. I
prefer that form of communication to the
rumor mill.
As always we
thank you for what you do, why you do
it, and for always showing why you are
the best Fire Department in the Country!
Very
Respectfully,
Kurtis R. Wilson
Chief of Operations
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department
