Heard any rumors lately? If so, I hope this Week’s
review can answer some questions. I hope all is well and a few changes are on
the horizon. Let’s get started….
- Revision’s to the Accountability SOG and Personal Radio SOG

state statue regarding completing your reports on time.

- Thanksgiving PL
---eight (8) extra PL spots will be given away for
Thanksgiving Day this year. If you are interested in placing your name in
the hat for an approved Pl, please contact your Battalion Chief. The
three battalions will handle pulling the names.
- Duplicate Report writing
---we are actively trying to stop the
duplicate report writing between JFIRS and E-Pro….it’s a programming issue….
Time to give some thanks…..
- To the Westside crews managing all the suspicious fires…..you all have
done an outstanding job!!!
- Special thanks to Chief Blanton, F-6 C, who had to shortest pre-fire
plan to 2nd alarm in JFRD history; one day!
To Capt. Roosevelt Prier and Capt. Steve Riska who worked two 15-hour
days finalizing the new ladder truck….We all were tired of seeing fire
trucks after those two days.
To Lt. Scott Kornegay, who has been managing the ISO project. Two days
ago, he released a new GIS-based map of the Town of Baldwin showing new
hydrants not on the original ISO list. This means an immediate cost
savings to hundreds of homes in the Town of Baldwin and just in time for the
holidays….excellent job!
To Chief’s A. White, Griggs, McCormick, Gainey, Smith, and Nelson for
making the Fire 9 move an easy one.
To all of you, who come into work day in and day out, to make things
better for the rest of us. JFRD is nothing without the men and women who
wear the uniform and answer the call.
Also, keep your thoughts and prayers with some of our
folks this week as they are going through some very tough times.
Well that’s it for this week. Please take some time
for yourself and I hope you spend it with family and friends.
Apparently I have been diagnosed with E.W.S.
(Expanding Waist Syndrome) and I will be spending some time at the gym. Thank
you to all the people who pointed that out this week…Lol
As always, we thank you for what you do, why you do
it, and for truly being, the Best Fire Department in the Country!
Very Respectfully,
